Delay buying to save money
Posted Under: finance
We live in a world of plenty and often plenty of low quality goods. We, buy and buy and buy often junk we don’t need. Altogether we consume way to much. We buy too many things with not enough quality. I remember going to Tokyo and noticing the high quality of people’s clothes and the goods in the stores.
I asked an American who lived there how com and he explaines that the appartments in Tokyo were so small that there was no room for a lot of clothes and so people would buy few high quality stuff.
So how can stop buying so much junk which clutters our homes and wastes our money?
Delay buying.
One delay that works for some is called carrying. When yu go to a store and see something you like, carry it (only within the store obviously) around with you for a while. As you carry it do two things:
- Enjoy it as though it was already yours.
- Keep asking yourself, "Do I really want this?" Also ask if you really need it?
Typically when you do the above you’ll cut down your impulsive buying and end up buying only what you want and need and lower your chances of getting buyer’s remource.
A better way of doing delayed buying is very useful when buying expensive goods delay for thirty days. So you see something and decide on it and now delay for thirty days. During this time you can take your time and do some research. Perhaps you can buy it cheaper online or offline (if originally looked at online – remember the shipping handling costs). Perhaps you can buy something similar at a better price/quality or you may decide you really don’t want it at all.
